The Andersons opened their Cary practice in 2007 after consolidating their Raleigh and Chapel Hill office locations. Beverly J. Anderson has her masters degree in Counseling Psychology and is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). She has been in the field since 1988 and has worked in a variety of settings, including residential crisis centers, juvenile detention, church counseling centers, and private practice. Dr. John A. Anderson has his doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) and is a North Carolina Licensed Psychologist and Health Services Provider in Psychology (HSP-P). He also holds two masters degrees; one in counseling psychology and the other in clinical psychology. He has been practicing in the field since 1988 in a variety of settings, including residential treatment for teen boys, community mental health, public schools, church counseling centers, active duty US Air Force, and private practice.
The Andersons draw from many years of training and experience to assist their clients with their various concerns - anxiety, depression, marital/relational distress, addictions, dysfunctional family histories, PTSD & traumatic experiences, among others.
Treatment approaches utilized may include cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), psychodynamic, EMDR, IFS, DNMS, EFT, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Neurofeedback and others based on careful attention to the nature of the problem and the needs of the individual. The Andersons also have formal training in the integration of psychology and Christian theology for those individuals interested in exploring how their faith and experience interact.
